It is customary that the six step process can be completed within a 30 day period timeframe.  Outsourcers (or the buyer) can start receiving the benefits of strategic improvement recommendations, and brand qualification recognition almost immediately.

GSC™ Certification Levels

The GSC™ certification is awarded in one of five possible levels.  The following illustration provides general examples for each of the five levels.

Level 5 – ‘O’

Optimized

Companies who exhibit overall strengths in all 21 Key Process Areas (KPA).  Companies in this category have fiscal strength, market penetration, product diversification, delivery history, and intellectual resources.

Level 4 – ‘S1’

Stable/Mature

Overall strong KPA tendencies, developing a solid experience base with industry recognition in at least one group.  Development of outsourcing leadership is often the final measure to move to an ‘O’ level.

Level 3 – ‘S’

Stable

Balanced KPA strengths with development needed in the areas of market focusing and product/service line diversification.

Level 2 – ‘F1’

Foundation/ Mature

Foundation companies have core competencies and established.  Fiscal strength and stability can be Improved, and processes need to be made cultural. Companies in this category are on the right track but need to develop them further.

Level 1 – ‘F’

Foundation

Companies are just starting out.  Fiscal strength is often funded through project revenue or through the support of others.  Processes are more apt to be new, and resource pool is adequate for projects but marginal for taking on new business.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The level weighting factors and score ranges are reflected below. The GSC™ is unique in that it measures the life of the organization and not simply the operational traits that it may have adopted. Therefore, a company may aspire to the next level of viability but the only way that this can be accomplished is thru demonstrated improvement.

Examiners

GSC™ Examiners are required to meet rigorous pre- and ongoing qualification criteria,

● Minimum of 2 years independent assessment experience,

● Initial GSC™ Examination Certification Training

● Field Supervision on Initial Examination

● Ongoing IIOM Oversight on all Field Examinations

● Annual Recertification

Examiners who have successfully fulfilled their obligations after one year (minimum of 10 GSC™ assessments) qualify for appointment as Senior Examiners.  Senior Examiners are allowed to promote the development of new examiners who meet the criteria as previously outlined.  IIOM maintains stringent standards for administration of the GSC™ program and the conduct of qualified examiners to insure the upmost quality and integrity of certifications conducted.

 

Certification Validity 

GSC™ is valid for three (3) years with annual updating compliance.  A GSC ™ Company may request an update review on those occasions where significant change has occurred.
